Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Develop control systems for RNG/CNG fueling facilities, including compressor controls, dispensing controls, ESD, data communication, fuel management systems and SCADA.


  • Knowledge of diary RNG process is a plus.


  • Produce instrumentation drawings, define I/O to P&IDs, and develop block-wiring, ladder logic, P&ID and termination diagrams.


  • Prepare cause & effect diagram, controls narrative, and PLC/HMI programs.


  • Work with equipment suppliers in order to set corporate automation policies and develop best practices and standards.


  • Set best practices and standards for mounting, design, and layout of local HMI data displays.


  • Coordinate and facilitate system designs and validate interconnectivity and inter-functionality of purchased sub-assemblies and equipment.


  • Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineering, design, and drafting personnel.


  • Facilitate and help coordinate activities of others to ensure that control system installations and operations conform to functional specifications.


  • Coordinate work of consultants including liaison with vendors.


  • Prepare status and progress project reports for the Director of Engineering and company management.


  • Advise management regarding engineering problems and potential ways to solve them.


  • Work closely with management and colleagues to ensure quality of design drawings.


  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field plus 6-8 years of related experience in Controls and Electrical System design and implementation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • Good knowledge of codes and standards for electrical hazardous classifications in the United States and Canada.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA systems, HMI's and PLC's, design and interconnection of all communications systems among equipment pieces required.



Preferred knowledge and experience



  • RNG, CNG, and/or LNG experience would be a plus
  • Licensed Professional Engineer would be a strong desire



Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook. AutoCad, Etap, and Procore knowledge is required.
