What You'll Do in This Position

Provide leadership, direction and management of Site Services activities, by establishment of, and compliance with, well-defined strategies and programs. To provide these services to the site in a safe and cost effective manner and on a time scale consistent with site customers needs. Support the site mission and strategic direction through the development and implemetation of operational plans. Manage a multi-functional organization to assure; safe operation, continuous improvement, cost effectiveness, conduct of operations, conduct of maintenance, regulatory compliance, and teamwork.
- Understand site contract requirements and develop and implement strategies to support mission accomplishment.
- Lead, manage and direct the assigned Site Services organization by establishing mission, vision, strategic goals, and business plans and objectives to accomplish the DOE and SRNS Strategic Management Plan. Includes direct interface with DOE-SR and SRNS senior staff and program managers.

Advance information technology and other technological solutions by serving as the champion/sponsor/change agent for the introduction of practical business solutions.
- Work with Facility and Area Project Management to meet facility milestones for operations, production, deactivation and decommissioning activities and programs by establishing mutual priorities.
- Mentor subordinate managers and ensure continuous career development opportunities.
- Provide direct resource to Site Services Department Director in maintaining safe and improved department performance by analyzing performance trends, designing and implementing strategies to set goals and improve performance standards for work within all nuclear and non-nuclear facilities at SRS. Represent Site Services with Department of Energy management.
- Be responsive, adaptable, flexible to changing conditions, business and operating environments in a highly visible way that supports Site Services employees and business needs. Actively lead by personal example and personal interaction with all workforces. Consistently develop staff with unwavering and evenly applied standards of performance.
- Analyze business data, define needs and manage resources including strategic staff recommendations. Lead the development and justification of budget needs while managing activities to control expenditures within changing mission needs. Initiating/justifying change control and working within the given budget and resource limitations to re-prioritize or reschedule current activities to meet emergent need.
- Develop and initiate training, qualifications, and personnel development programs to meet conops requirements and optimize resources. Establishes a collaborative environment which operate effectively and efficiently in a flat organization with minimal day-to-day management direction. Must coach and counsel section employees
Other knowledge skills:
Ability to manage other managers, professionals and staff with a wide range of technical and administrative responsibilities setting high standards of performance. Experience or training in company policies and procedures affecting conduct of operations, quality assurance, safety, security, personnel benefits and policies, and site administrative systems is desirable.

Demonstrated leadership skills.
Knowledge of Site Budgetary Program.
Effective intuitive negotiation and good communication skills.
Demonstrated team building skills.
Experience working within Nuclear Facilities such as K, H, L and F.
Lead, manage and direct the assigned Site Services organization personnel.
Experience with direct interface with DOE-SR and SRNS senior staff and program managers.
Must be knowledgeable of business management principles, take a well-ordered approach to resolving business situations.
Requires working knowledge of DOE Orders along with training and experience in Site Services requirements and practices in the nuclear and non-nuclear environment.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Technical Management or related field preferred.
