Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corporation is currently seeking Facilities & Safety Manager in Vernon Hills, IL. The Facility & Safety Manager is responsible for the overall management of building maintenance operations, while ensuring the facility's compliance with OSHA safety regulations as the company's Safety Officer.

REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for facility repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting while ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry-specific standards.
    1. Coordinates various vendor communication (i.e. for HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical) including obtaining quotes, scheduling work, and ensuring quality work.
    2. Collaborates with Manufacturing teams with vendor/equipment manufacturer-proposed preventative maintenance requirements. Ensures corresponding forms/logs are completed to ensure safe and efficient equipment availability/operation.
    3. Ensures new equipment requiring calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) has been communicated to the Quality department and department manager for integration into their calibration and PM schedules.
    4. Responds to emergency situations and provides necessary support, including after-hours on-call availability for emergencies only
  • Acts as the company's designated Safety Officer, responsible for day-to-day management of the safety program, including OSHA regulations, local/state fire regulations, development of emergency response procedures and safety policies.
    1. Develops and implements safety procedures, training programs, and maintains a comprehensive safety manual.
    2. Ensures compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations and industry-specific standards.
  • Creates and leads implementation of facility improvement plans including but not limited to:
    1. Creates project requirements and statement of work (SOW).
    2. Identifies and maintains vendor relationships (including SBA minority vendors).
    3. Generates requests for Quotes (RFQ), NDA's, credentialing, and permitting where applicable.
    4. Reviews and negotiation of quotes, including timeline commitments, penalties for project creep, and late delivery.
  • Develops and manages the Building Maintenance budget, tracking expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and providing financial/strategic justification for Capital investments.
  • Maintains accurate records of facilities operations and maintenance activities.
  • Manages the Facilities Technician and assigns tasks as applicable.
  • Personnel duties including hiring, performance management, training and career development.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Aware of and complies with the RWMIC Quality Manual and regulations & requirements as they apply to this job type/position.
  • Completes all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
  • Other duties as assigned by the US Head of Human Resources, Building Maintenance, and IT Infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or higher preferred in applicable field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in facility maintenance/management with knowledge of building systems and facilities operations, with an understanding of the needs of a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with vendor coordination and contract negotiation.
  • Intermediate PC skills in all major MS office suite products with an ability to become familiar with specific programs and software. (e.g. SAP ERP software)
  • Experience in developing safety programs and conducting risk assessments a plus.
  • Experience with and understanding of cross-cultural differences and the ability to work within this environment is crucial for successful employment
  • The following physical demands are required:
    1. Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hours per day.
    2. Lift/Carry 50+ pounds
    3. Bend/Stoop/Kneel 4 hours per day
    4. Push/pull 50+ pounds
