Job Summary

Florida Blue is seeking a strong, collaborative, and highly energetic Product Owner to push our digital experience to the next level. That includes working on initiatives where you are building a world-class and forward-leaning user experience, thoughtfully integrating proprietary and partnered solutions, supporting the evaluation and integration of the most important and exciting new technologies (e.g., Amazon Alexa) and features (e.g., virtual care) to increase conversion, and otherwise ensuring our constituents have the most supportive, frictionless, and delightful digital experience possible. The Product Owner plays a key role in the execution and delivery of digital initiatives. They work closely with the Product Managers and execution teams to gain a deep understanding of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap to drive the delivery of innovative outcomes for major user experience initiatives. The Product Owner leads the scrum team and provides the necessary direction to IT to successfully execute digital initiatives. They are responsible for refining business requirements into user stories that comprise the product backlog and managing the prioritization of the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the Features or components for the team. They are responsible for validating and accepting user stories.

Essential Functions



  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
  • Leads scrum teams as the Product Owner (15%)
  • Provides vision and direction to the agile development team throughout the project; works in partnership with the development team and business system analyst to deliver on features (10%)
  • Coordinates with the Product Manager to deliver on the product vision, strategy, and roadmap; understands business value and ROI. (10%)
  • Heavily involved in program backlog refinement to gain deep understanding of features and translates those into user stories with acceptance criteria. (15%)
  • Leads production release planning activities, creates product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities; participates in post-production implementation validation activities (5%)
  • Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product (5%)
  • Keep abreast with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) /Scrum best practices and new trends (5%)
  • Responsible for iteration pre-planning; plans and prioritize product feature backlog user stories to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value as aligned to the product strategy and prepares to bring forward detailed user stories during iteration planning (15%)
  • Responsible for building, editing, and maintaining the team backlog including defects and enablers (10%)
  • Responsible for testing, reporting/resolving defects, and accepting user stories as done (10%)


Qualifications

Required Work Experience

5+ years related work experience. Experience Details: Relevant experience with at least 3 years related to digital 1 year as product owner

Required Management Experience

No supervisory/management experience required

Required Education

Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience

Additional Required Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles Experience working in an agile and iterative environment

Additional Preferred Qualifications

Experience in statistical analysis or survey management software (i.e. Qualtrics)

Business knowledge of Florida Blue Lean/Six Sigma or Product Owner certification Experience leading teams in a matrix environment with reporting responsibilities to two or more different areas

General Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Annualized Salary Range: $75,700 - $123,000

Typical Annualized Hiring Range: $75,700 - $94,600

Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
