Job Title: Medical Technologist

Pay Range: $30/hr - $40/hr.
Duration: 6+ Months to Possible Extension

Job Description:
- Chemistry: The employee will be expected to perform routine chemistry testing on automated instrumentation (Client Architect ci8200, Client Alinity, Advanced Instruments Osmos, Polymedco OC80, manual chemistry tests) as well as routine daily and weekly quality control, and instrument maintenance.
- Urinalysis: The employee will be expected to perform routine chemistry and urinalysis testing on automated instrumentation (Beckman Coulter Urinalysis, Advanced Instruments Osmos, Polymedco OC80, manual urinalysis and chemistry tests) as well as routine daily and weekly quality control, and instrument maintenance.
- Blood Bank: The employee will be expected to perform routine blood bank duties to include cross matching, antibody screening and identification, selected cell panels, processing in blood and blood products as part of weekly issue or emergency requests, and routine daily and weekly quality control procedures using tube and gel technology.
- Hematology/Coagulation: The employee will be expected to perform routine hematology and coagulation testing on automated instrumentation (Sysmex, ACL Top, Alcor iSed, manual hematology and coagulation tests) as well as routine daily and weekly quality control, and instrument maintenance.
- Microbiology: The employee will be expected to perform routine microbiology testing including manual and automated testing. These duties shall include plating, gram staining, reading plates, subbing plates, Microscan setup, PCR testing, and other microbiology routine procedures.
- Performs patient and QC testing according to established protocols and active in the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Proficiency Testing (PT) Program.
- Independently tests, evaluates, documents, and reports patient testing and Quality Control (QC); identifies, documents, and resolves any collection, processing, testing or reporting issues.
- As part of safety, positively identifies patients prior to sample collection and samples prior to testing or aliquoting.
- As part of safety and safeguards electronic and paper patient information.

Qualifications:
- The MT assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this contract is a nationally certified MT with three (3) years of recent chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, hematology, coagulation, and microbiology experience.
Board Certification:
- Medical Technologists assigned by the Contractor must be a nationally certified Medical Technologists (MT, MLS or CLS).
- All continuing education courses required for maintaining certification must be always kept up to date.
Technical Proficiency:
- Contractor's employees shall be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the government's requirements, including the ability to speak, understand, read and write English fluently.
- Contractor shall provide documents upon request of the CO/COR to verify current and ongoing competency, skills, certification and/or licensure related to the provision of care, treatment and/or services performed.
