ACARA Solutions and our defense client have a contract-to-direct hire REMOTE position available.

Azure Specialist

$65.00 per hour
  • AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure service offerings.
  • Experience in virtualization technologies Server, Storage, and Networking.
  • Experience in scripting languages and software automation.
  • Experience in computer programming languages C, C Sharp, C++, Perl, PHP, and Python.
  • Experience in administering systems in a virtualized Cloud environment based on VMware vRealize, vCloud
  • A Cloud Computing Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based solutions to support the company's mission-critical systems.
  • This involves evaluating and selecting appropriate cloud platforms, migrating on-premises workloads to the cloud, ensuring security and compliance, and optimizing cloud resources for cost and performance.
  • The Cloud Computing Specialist works closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver innovative cloud solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Configure and administer cloud computing technologies, infrastructure, and applications to meet the organization's requirements.
  • Develop software automation and scripts to orchestrate cloud and virtualization technologies with defined scope, schedule, and expectations.
  • Support and lead the evaluation of new service offerings from Cloud Service Providers to determine potential usage by clients.
  • Identifies, manages, and resolves cloud computing security risks and implements best practices in a cloud environment.
  • Monitor requests and key metrics for cloud resources, as well as the performance of systems in the cloud and direct remediation.
  • Provide subject-matter expert technical support to customers using Cloud Platform products, solutions, and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
  • Troubleshoot issues and plans for future cloud capacity requirements.
  • Develop a roadmap and business case for capacity growth.
  • Led and performed the installation and configuration of cloud management applications, leading to large-scale efforts.
  • Lead the identification and documentation of product bugs and feature requests and work with internal support teams, external providers, and customers to implement practical solutions.
  • Mentor team members on analysis of summary data on cloud resource deployment and participate in taking corrective actions.
  • Partner with IT architecture and other IT teams to design, deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems in the cloud by working directly with the stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership and work direction to other employees.
  • Shows initiative on assignments and professionally executes projects with little direction or can provide direction and leadership to technical teams.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathmatics.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure service offerings.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in virtualization technologies Server, Storage, and Networking.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in scripting languages and software automation.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in computer programming languages C, C Sharp, C++, Perl, PHP, and Python.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in administering systems in a virtualized Cloud environment based on VMware vRealize, vCloud Director, and NSX technologies.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in configuration management using CloudFormation and similar technologies.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in security, risk, and compliance frameworks, disaster recovery, high availability architectures, hardware, operating systems, and networking connectivity.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Infrastructure automation through scripting.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in designing and implementing enterprise services with the full range of cloud service providers/solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Storage administration (on-prem and Azure)
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Advanced Azure administration using RBAC, Policy, and automation
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Software Development Practices and Lifecycle Management.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform and Git/GitLab).
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Scripting (PowerShell and Python).
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and apply client culture, policies, and processes.
  • Practical communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Able to accept & integrate constructive feedback.
  • Demonstrates ability to work collaboratively and effectively with various individuals.
  • Demonstrates an understanding and familiarity with the Lean-Agile mindset.
  • Knowledge of LeanAgile principles and practices (includes DevSecOps, Scurm, SAFe, and Kanban).
  • Knowledge of Application and System Architecture
  • Knowledge of artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Knowledge of Azure governance and security features.
