JOB DETAILS
Job Title Mfg. Quality Engineer
JOB PURPOSE
The Noise Vibration & Harshness Test Engineer role within the Testing and Analysis Group of the Product Engineering Department is primarily responsible for New Model and Mass Production product testing (Static and Dynamic). Testing will include set up, data collection and data analysis with a focus on bench and in-vehicle testing for noise, vibration and function of Power Train Components (Transmission) produced by Honda.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Testing of transmission and other powertrain products to validate quality in areas of NVH, function, and endurance. This includes in-vehicle & bench validation.
Operation of data acquisition equipment and multiple transducer types to verify test conditions and judgment requirements are met.
Make detailed test reports and communicate results with customers.
Conduct analysis of product non-conformance to determine root cause and implement countermeasure activity.
Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for Product Engineering Dept by reviewing, revising, and maintaining all QMS documentation to support compliance to ISO and Honda QMS requirements.
Make detailed test procedures and equipment operation manuals to train other group members.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS
Minimum Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering / engineering technology or 6 years' equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Minimum Experience
0~6 experience based on education. Co-Op experience in a manufacturing related product development and/or project management role

Use of data acquisition equipment with an automotive focus
Knowledge / Experience with installation of powertrain components

Ability to work in teams and lead special projects.
Strong analytical skills and problem-solving methodology and understanding/troubleshooting of automotive electrical systems.
Demonstrate initiative and ability to make solid decisions under pressure.
Willingness to be hands-on with products and equipment when required.
Willingness to work overtime and travel when necessary.
Flexible schedule to support weekend/holiday equipment checks and testing concerns.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Identify the working conditions and physical demands which relate to the essential functions of the position (e.g., physical requirements, work environment, travel, necessary OT, etc.)
Overtime generally consists of TV Conference meetings with Honda R&D and Manufacturing facilities internationally early in the morning and later in the evening depending on the start time. Occasionally off-shift hours may be required based on testing priorities/deadlines.
This position works in an open office environment with other Quality Division departments, which houses the office, meeting rooms, and testing/analysis areas.
Typical workday for this Job is 50% soft side (Review QMS documents along with drawings and make fixture, analysing data, creating presentations, and attending New Model meetings) 50% hard side (CBU/Equipment setup, installing powertrain components, trouble shoot concerns with equipment and test specimen).
