JOB SUMMARY

This position will focus on securing planned gifts from UT Southwestern's alumni, faculty and grateful patients and growing the planned giving recognition group, the Wildenthal Society. The right candidate is excited to take the next career step and appreciates the challenge of discovery work and building new relationships. Reporting to the Director of Development, Gift Planning, the chosen candidate has to thrive in a team-first environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job Duties

  • Identify Prospective planned giving donors through discovery calls and effective use of print and digital marketing channels.
  • Introduce planned giving options, including bequests, beneficiary designations, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts.
  • Assist donors in making charitable decisions, including running proposals, illustrating planned giving concepts, and working with donors' advisors.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors capable of making major gifts.
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of prospective donors and implement solicitation and engagement strategies in support of institutional priorities of UT Southwestern Medical Center.
  • May supervise others in performance of duties.
  • May serve as clinical line liaison.
  • Build and nurture effective working relationships with administrative leadership, physicians, researchers, and volunteer leadership.
  • Work closely with Stewardship team to identify and implement appropriate stewardship strategies.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the development team.
  • Identify, recruit, and train volunteer leaders who can extend the reach of staff through involvement in the cultivation and solicitation of prospective donors.
  • Write letters, proposals, and case materials.
  • Utilize constituent relationship management system to strategically plan and track activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Required

  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree


  • Experience
    5 years of fundraising or related sales/client facing experience.


Preferred



  • Experience

    • The successful candidate will have a history of initiating planned giving conversations with prospective donors, be comfortable with discussing gifts of assets, such as appreciated securities and retirement plan accounts, and developing long-term relationships with planned giving donors.
    • Experience working with planned giving vendors to produce marketing collateral is a plus.
