lives of older adults through community, choice, and continuing care in the Executive Director role. Having just completed a major redevelopment of the Des Moines campus, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our original Des Moines senior living community in this next phase of growth and operational excellence. This campus includes independent living, memory care assisted living, housing with services (catered living) and skilled nursing . The campus leadership team includes a nursing home administrator whose primary focus is operation of the Rehabilitation & Care Center (skilled nursing). The Executive Director will oversee all other aspects of operations, ensuring high-quality care and services for residents while fostering a positive and productive work environment for employees. This role requires a strong leader with a passion for senior care, regulatory compliance expertise, a track record of operational and financial success, and a passion for delivering on a positive employee experience. Operations Provide strategic leadership and oversight of daily operations for independent living, memory care assisted living, and skilled nursing. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure exceptional resident care and compliance with state and federal regulations. Build a culture of belonging through active use of the company's recognition and reward platform. Maintain a visible presence within the community to engage with residents, families, and employees. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure compliance with all Washington State and federal regulations, including DOH, DSHS, CMS, and OSHA . Maintain accreditation and licensing standards for assisted living and skilled nursing. Conduct regular audits and implement quality improvement programs. Address and resolve resident and family concerns in a timely and professional manner. Financial Management Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and cost controls to maintain the community's financial health. Monitor occupancy rates, revenue streams, and expense management to meet business goals. Identify and implement strategies to enhance financial performance and sustainability. Resident & Family Engagement Cultivate a welcoming, vibrant community that enhances residents' quality of life. Develop programs and initiatives that promote resident engagement, wellness, and satisfaction. Communicate effectively with residents and families, addressing needs and concerns proactively. People Leadership Build a culture of belonging through active use of the company's recognition and reward platform. Create an engaged and high-performing team through adoption and visual support of the company's people strategies. Marketing & Community Relations Represent the community in public relations efforts and networking with local organizations. Partner with marketing teams to drive occupancy growth through outreach and referral partnerships. Serve as a spokesperson for the community, fostering positive relationships with residents, families, and the broader community. Our requirements and qualifications for success Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Gerontology, or related field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of leadership experience in senior living, assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing settings. Current Washington State Assisted Living License required; Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) License a plus. Strong knowledge of Washington State Department of Health and Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) regulations. Experience managing financial performance, occupancy growth, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency with workplace technology and ability to upskills others (mobile apps, cloud-based software, tablets, screen mirroring, shared drives, O365, etc.). Physical, environmental, and mental requirements Ability to maintain focus and concentration. Ability to listen to and comprehend information and ideas provided through conversation, email, and text. Able to lift 40lbs on a regular basis. Bending, stooping, walking, sitting, and standing, intermittently during working hours. Near and far vision acuity. Subject to frequent interruptions. Ability to handle unplanned and potentially stressful situations. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand points being made, asking questions as appropriate.Salary Range: $165,400 to $247,400 per year This position also offers the following enhanced benefits: 1) PTO accrual rate of 0.1287 per hour worked equivalent to 240 hours of PTO annually, 2) $2,000 of reimbursable expense toward continuing education in your field of endeavor annually, 3) one State and one National conference annually, 4) annual expense reimbursement of professional license fees or membership fees, and 5) 100% company-paid group LTD and IDI disability coverage.
