Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions ( SHP) is seeking a Research Associate II to work in the Dean's Office of Research.
Under the direction of the Sr. Methodologist faculty member, the Research Associate II is responsible for the independent conduct of a significant element of a larger research activity. This individual will design and conduct highly specialized and technical research.

The Research Associate II will work closely with the Sr. Methodologist in data collection, QA and management of different datasets, analysis, and communication of the results. The Research Associate II will also be responsible for overseeing and training of junior analysts in evidence synthesis methods and approaches.

In addition the Research Associate II will work closely with the Senior Methodologist when communicating with VA entities and will be expected to attend weekly meetings in addition to other meetings as required. The Research Associate II will also serve as co-author on reports, methodological documents and articles summarizing study findings.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Performs research operations independently, relating to investigatory activities of a project, followed by appropriate manuscript publications and grant preparations.
  • Independently carry out data extraction, and data cleaning to prepare for analysis.
  • Assist Sr. Methodologist in creating status reports and articles of research findings.
  • Assist Sr. Methodologist to communicate with AHBPCE and the VA HOME (Health Outcomes Military Exposures) regarding data character, results, and outputs (e.g., cleaned data matrices) as needed for different evidence synthesis products: reports for policy decision-making, public and civilian consumption, formal academic manuscripts.
  • Independent and group communication with clinical and experimental collaborators.
  • Ensure research deliverables are met according to set milestones.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Ph. D. Degree or equivalent in a relevant science, or a Master's Degree in a relevant science plus three (3) years of related research experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • History of participation in at least one evidence synthesis project.
  • Experience with creation, cleaning and management of data repositories
  • Ability to identify and extract quantitative data from research reports (e.g., published academic manuscripts).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with meta-analytic statistical techniques is a plus.
  • Familiarity with and experience with R and/or Stata is a plus.
  • Experience with online evidence synthesis platform.
