Who You Are: Seeking a full-time Flight Operations/Aviation Technician in support of West Desert Test Center Mission Support Services at Michael Army Airfield, Dugway Proving Grounds. What You'll Do: Flight Operations/Aviation Technician is responsible for all airfield operations functions and activities. Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day operations, maintenance, personnel, and services at assigned airfield ensuring safety and quality to the customer.
- Coordinate and communicate with aircraft crews, air traffic control, ground personnel, maintenance teams and various base agencies that provide for safe and seamless operation of aircraft in the airfield environment.
- Procure, maintain and produce information on safe operation of aircraft through the national and international airspace system
- Provide advisory services to pilots, Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), local airfield and navigational status, weather information and flight following services
- Direct, assist and provide aircrews with information and services to accomplish operation activities relating to airfield management and flight planning
- Monitor and maintain flight records, manage flight plans, and ensure accurate documentation of airfield activities.
- Coordinate with other agencies to meet aircrew requirements for billeting, messing, refueling, transportation and transient aircraft maintenance
- Performs "Reception, Staging, Onward movement and Integration" (RSO&I) functions for transiting aircraft and crews
- Performs airfield management activities and oversees equipment and material within assigned area of responsibility with the ability to communicate with communication equipment.
- Assist in managing airfield emergencies, lost aircraft and aircraft in distress incidents or severe weather situations, by implementing established protocols and coordinating with relevant emergency services.
- Regularly inspect runways, taxiways, ramps, and other operational areas to identify and address potential hazards or maintenance needs, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Plans and oversees the execution of any additional services requested by the customer (i.e. Airfield projects, UAS operations, FARP operations etc.)
- Assist the Operations Division, Airfield Commanders or Senior Airfield Authority (SAA) to the extent possible within the scope of the Contract; work with Team Dugway, Contract Officer Representative (COR) and management to address related tasks accordingly
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned
- Current certification for Air Traffic Control is desirable but not required.

- Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
- Must maintain a valid driver's license with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date.
- Must be able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.

Additional Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, instructions, and directives pertaining to airfield planning and design criteria, aircraft operations, and airfield management.
- Familiarity with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and advisory circulars is important to ensure compliance in all operations.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
- Prefer a minimum of 10 years previous experience working in airfield operations
- Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of ICAO and/or United States federal and military air regulations, flight data and NOTAM systems preferred
- Familiar with navigational aids, basic aircraft design characteristics, fundamentals of meteorology, and principles of organization, purpose, operation, and management of airfield operational areas
- Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, making appropriate judgments, and evaluating options concerning airfield operations and maintenance
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of US military operations and contracting support in a real world and training environments
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Advanced organizational skills, computer literacy, and demonstrated expertise of research methodologies
- Additional knowledge/skill requirements may be required by assignment.
- Ability to obtain HAZMAT certifications as required.
- Minimum eight (8) years of commercial and/or military experience in supervising and overseeing Air Traffic Management and Air Traffic Control operations activities
- Previous experience with runway construction and repair preferred
- Prefer civilian/military management background displaying ability to self-organize, lead and manage daily airfield requirements
