Job Summary

Collaborates with the Director on development, monitoring, and overall strategy for communication, public relations, and marketing activities on behalf of the College of Arts, Sciences & Education in line with University guidelines and goals.

  • Collaborates with Director on overall vision, leadership, and management for communication, public relations, and marketing strategies within the unit in line with the University's mission and goals.
  • Assists college communications campaigns to showcase college research, programs and other areas of strategic priority, including media relations, social media and marketing.
  • Writes news stories in conformance with University guidelines focused on college priority areas and preeminent programs.
  • Places news stories and op-eds in local, national and international media to publicize college research and community engagement.
  • Assists with college speakers bureau including identification of speaker opportunities, liaising with event organizers and booking faculty.
  • Establishes and maintains reports and data collection for marketing and public relations activities for the unit. Produces statistical reports and records as requested by the Director and/or upper management.
  • Assists in the development of collateral materials produced to promote the college, its programs and its research. Ensures compliance with institutional review boards when needed.
  • Assists with major events that support the college communications strategy including development of exhibits and staffing of events.
  • Maintains frequent contact with academic and administrative officers of the schools within the college, as well as the greater University. Maintains flexibility and sensitivity to establish and maintain necessary rapport with all levels of personnel and external constituencies.
  • Handles confidential matters concerning the college, the untimely disclosure of which would be detrimental.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media/Public Relations, Communications, or related degree and five (5) years of experience in a related field.
