Environmental, Operations and Construction (EOC) operates within HDR's Federal Business Group, capable of delivering services across all HDR business groups at any location. Our work is performed by our professional staff, scientists and engineers at remote sites, embedded in client office space or our own facilities. EOC delivers quality engineering, environmental, and construction management services at competitive prices.

HDR is searching for a hands-on, results oriented leader to serve as HDR's site manager for our mission at the premier United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). Our site manager will lead USAFA's Engineering, Environmental and Real Property organizations in strong partnership with our small business teaming partner that is leading Operations, Housing and Readiness organizations. They will have strong leadership skills, expert knowledge in Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron operations, and an enthusiasm to ensure our cadets receive state of the art facilities and resources so they can serve our country to the best of their abilities. This position is full time, on-site located on USAFA. Our ideal candidate is an USAFA graduate and has expert AF Civil Engineering Squadron experience gained from serving as an AF Base Civil Engineer.

In the role of Director of Engineering and Installation Management, we'll count on you to:



  • Plan, organize, and oversee the activities of the on-site team responsible for the Installation Engineering (programming, community planning, design and construction management), and Installation Management (environmental and real property) at the United States Air Force Academy
  • Exercise supervisory personnel management responsibilities
  • Establish, define, and implement requirements for the team's activities to ensure services and functions are in line with organizational goals and mission requirements.
  • Present in person briefings and communicates regularly with various USAFA leaders and USAFA contracting officers and representatives.
  • Be responsible for both our small business teaming partner and USAF client satisfaction
  • Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, morale, quality control and Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron processes support
  • Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
  • Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections
  • See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel
  • Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
  • Work cooperatively with HDR Senior Leaders and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering; construction management.
  • Master's degree in engineering, architecture, management or construction management
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree form ABET/NCARB accredited university
  • Professional Engineer/Architect license/registration
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience as an USAF Civil Engineering Officer
  • US Air Force Academy graduate

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
