City/State Hampton, VA Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Sentara CarePlex Hospital is currently hiring an Oncology Data Specialist II. Remote Position Flexibility to Create Your Own Set Schedule AND Work from Home!! Hours/Shift: Part time, 20 hours per week Job Summary: Maintains an efficient cancer database of all the patients diagnosed and/or treated with cancer in accordance with the American College of Surgeons requirements for Sentara Cancer Network. Consistently meets productivity goals in regard to abstracting. Responsible for assisting with maintaining annual follow-up of patients accessed to database as well as perform data retrieval to support cancer research, patient care improvement studies and quality assurance for physicians and the Cancer Program. Job Requirements: Education: Must have a minimum of an Associate's Level Degree. License/Certification: Must be certified by the National Cancer Registrars Association at the time of hire.
