About the Opportunity:

The Quality Management Systems (QMS) Coordinator will oversee and manage the quality systems at our Thomasville facility. This role is key in ensuring compliance with industry standards (such as AS9100 and NADCAP), maintaining the Quality Manual, and supporting internal and external audits. The QMS Coordinator will lead efforts in auditing, identifying and resolving non-conformances, and ensuring adherence to quality systems across all manufacturing operations.

In Thomasville, we employ approximately 150 employees and generate roughly $50 million in revenue annually. Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards by managing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), including updating the Quality Manual and ensuring adherence to AS9100 and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead and execute internal quality audits and assessments, driving corrective actions to address findings and maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Take ownership of the non-conformance process by identifying, documenting, and resolving NCRs, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions are implemented across the site.
  • Oversee supplier quality management by evaluating and assessing suppliers to ensure they meet quality standards, and actively address any quality issues through collaboration and audits.
  • Maintain the integrity of quality documentation, managing document control processes to ensure all quality-related procedures, records, and manuals are up-to-date and compliant.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing quality data, identifying process inefficiencies, and implementing improvements that enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members by delivering training on quality systems, procedures, and compliance requirements to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards across the site.
  • Manage the corrective action process, including root cause analysis, and follow through to ensure corrective measures are implemented effectively and sustained.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in quality management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace or related manufacturing quality management, including direct experience with QMS systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISO Auditor certification is required; AS9100 Lead Auditor certification is highly preferred.
  • Proven track record in conducting internal audits and effectively leading corrective actions, including NCRs and CARs.
  • Hands-on experience in managing supplier quality and conducting vendor audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with Kaizen principles.
  • Familiarity with NADCAP or other aerospace-specific certifications and compliance requirements.
  • Comfortable working with document control systems and quality management software.
  • Strong expertise in root cause analysis and troubleshooting, with a solutions-focused approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong decision-making abilities, with a proven ability to resolve complex issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • High technical aptitude, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with quality management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

  • This role requires up to 5% travel, including visits to other company sites, suppliers, or industry events as needed.
  • Working conditions typically include both office and shop floor environments.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor.
  • Lifting up to 20-30 lbs. may be occasionally required.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
