Job Summary

Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is seeking a Network Administrator who is responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT communication and networking infrastructure, including firewalls, VoIP systems, digital signage, and CCTV. Supports both wireless and wired networks, ensuring optimal performance and security. Regular tasks include monitoring network services and hardware, diagnosing and resolving issues, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors, and maintaining system integrity. Participates in small projects and provides technical assistance for systems such as CCTV and digital signage. Updates documentation, maintains security configurations, and ensures efficient network operations.

Essential Functions

25% Supports wireless and wired digital networks and firewalls; analyzing, diagnosing, installing, configuring, debugging, maintaining, and troubleshooting systems, networks, and equipment;
Designs and/or modifies configurations and interfaces; Analyzes new technologies; makes recommendations; Performs moderately complex analyses for network issues: works with vendors to diagnose problems

20% Performs daily monitoring of the network services and hardware and its use, analyzes and resolves problems, and works cooperatively to create an appropriate ongoing maintenance schedule; collaborates with hardware, operating system, database administrators, and technical teams to ensure optimal performance of network systems. Updates and maintains security configuration settings as necessary to ensure optimal network performance; works closely with external vendors, business analysts, business leaders, security professionals, end users, team members, and infrastructure support personnel to design solutions and ensure systems integrity.

15% Participates in components of projects or small and clearly defined projects

10% Monitors and maintains network integrity using network management analysis tools

10% Assists College Safety resources in managing CCTV (closed circuit video camera) system

10% Provide support for the campus digital signage in cooperation with PVC Marketing.

10% Updates documentation and procedures; works with vendors; performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in information technology or related field, and two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience providing technical support in the installation, maintenance, and repair of networking infrastructure and systems.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree, education, certification and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

1. Experience supporting enterprise network solutions, network services, and infrastructure in a large organization.
2. .CCNA and/or other network certifications
3. Experience working with Cisco, Meraki or other wireless platforms, ISE, CCTV camera systems, VoIP, digital signage, network storage solutions and other hardware platforms.
4. Experience with firewalls, network and server system security and protection platforms.
5. Experience with scripts and programming and automation of network infrastructure.
6. Experience leading installation projects in the areas of structured cabling and fiber plant.
7. Experience with organizational printing administration and/or managed print services.
