The primary focus of this position is to deliver and support software development to Hybrid Computing environments related to the IBM System z Enterprise servers. Job Summary Mainline seeks an experienced Solutions and Innovation Consultant to join our Hybrid Cloud Group. The responsibility of this group is to provide support for various solutions. The primary focus of this position is to deliver and support software development to Hybrid Computing environments related to the IBM System z Enterprise servers. The consultant must have strong technical skills complemented by relationship skills and are viewed as a consultant to the customer. The Solutions and Innovation Consultant role will require a well-rounded individual with a very solid technical background as well as a proven history of successful interaction with customers. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience, understanding and diagnose issues with the Compile, Assembly and LinkEdit processes for z/OS
- Experience developing mainframe applications using COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, Java, and EZT for z/OS, with other programming languages as a plus.
- Experience with IBM CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, Liberty and z/OS Connect
- Experience with z/OS source control platforms and processes, such as Panvalet, Endevor, SCLM, etc.
- IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing offerings, including zLinux, zCX, Db2 and IDAA
- IBM Dependency Based Build and its components, including Groovy
- Using an IDE for mainframe development (e.g. IBM IDz, BMC Compuware Topaz, VSCode)
- Git-based source control platforms
- IBM UrbanCode Deploy
- Ansible Automation Platform
- Experience with other open-source tools would be a plus
- DevOps/DevSecOps methodologies and best practices
- IBM Certified Specialist - IBM zSeries Technical Version 1 and related industry certifications are preferred.
Education and/or Experience
- BA or BS or equivalent required.
- IBM Certified Specialist - IBM zSeries Technical Version 1 as well as related industry certifications are preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in customer facing environments with good presentation skills.
- Must have current working knowledge of IBM zEnterprise Hybrid Computing offerings including but limited to zLinux, zCX and IDAA as well as DB2 DBA support for s/w development.
