JOB SUMMARY

Fabricates and assembles metal products, equipment and machinery, such as trailers and special framework by performing the following duties.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Minimum 3 years of MIG welding experience
  • Must pass a 3G Welding Test.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to follow standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks


KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Use of power and hand tools, welding and cutting equipment
  • Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in metal fabrication
  • familiar with fabrication
  • General knowledge of shop tools and basic mechanical assembly.
  • Awareness of all safety regulations for both welding industry as well as OSHA safety regulations
  • Team Oriented



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Lays out and marks reference points onto components utilizing a tape measure.
  • Operates machines such as hem saws and drill press, to cut and shape components to specified dimensions.
  • Fits and assembles components.
  • Interpret and read engineering drawings, blueprints, and shop orders to weld and assemble product
  • Operate welding and fabricating equipment including but not limited to MIG welding, Plasma torch, Oxygen/ Acetylene Torch
  • Develops layout and plans sequence of operations.
  • Positions, aligns, fits and welds together parts.
  • Designs and constructs templates and fixtures.
  • Verifies conformance of workpiece to specifications.
  • Fabricates and assembles sheet metal products.
  • Move materials and assemble components.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
