Job Summary

Under the general directions of the Director of IT Operations and direct supervision of the Help Desk Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and maintaining the JAMF Pro platform to ensure the effective deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Apple Devices within the organization. The incumbent will also be responsible for assisting with the support of windows and Linux servers as well as, with Active directory administration.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
* Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
* Minimum of 5 years in IT support or equivalent
* Advanced level of experience with the installation, configuration and administration of JAMF Pro system. Ensure proper enrollment, provisioning and configuration of Apple devices (workstations, laptops, tablets and cell phones) using JAMF Pro and according to University and SVM requirements.
* Advanced level of experience to manage day-to-day operations of Apple devices through JAMF Pro, including device monitoring, software distribution, policy enforcement, and security settings management.
* Advanced level of experience to implement and enforce security measures and policies to protect Apple devices and ensure compliance with security standards (UCOP IS3, UC Davis CyberSafety, NIST, CIS and other security frameworks). This includes managing security profiles, encryption settings, and access controls.
* Advanced level of experience with providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, addressing device-related issues, software installations, application errors, and connectivity problems. Experience with Active Directory administration involving the managing and maintaining of user accounts, permissions, security policies, and network resources within a Microsoft Windows domain environment.
* Experience with medical/veterinarian systems such as Instinct and Agfa, technical proficiency in deploying IOS devices in hospital setting using JAMF, application configuration through Self-Service Portal, and with ensuring compliance with University security standards on these devices.
* Experience with the consolidation and integration of diverse IT based systems and with Cloud platform technologies and solutions (O365, Azure, AWS, ticketing systems, etc.) as well as experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (including the Intune component).
* No minimum knowledge, skill or ability required

Preferred Qualifications
* Jamf Certified Associate and/or Jamf Certified Tech Certificates
* Familiarity with the ITIL framework including request, problem and change management processes and asset management, as well as organizational skills and experience to properly prioritize, provide status/progress communications and timely close support requests, tasks and project assignment.
* Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to interact with a diverse group of people to include clinicians, students and staff. Ability to implicitly give and receive directions, information, and knowledge to and from other team members, users, co-workers, managers and vendors. Demonstrated ability to work individually and as a member of a team.

This position is part of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine Information Technology(SVM-IT) department. SVM-IT is a matrix organization consisting of the three main functions of IT Operations, Application Development and Project Management. Cross functional services include Academic and Research Systems, Clinical and Lab Systems, Enterprise Computing, and Administrative Systems. SVM-IT provides services to the faculty, students, staff and affiliates of both the School of Veterinary Medicine and the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH).

Work Environment
