Job Description

Coordinator, Patient Services | MSK Kids | NYC

MSK Kids, Memorial Sloan Kettering's pediatric program, is the largest program in the United States dedicated to the care of children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer, immune deficiencies, and blood disorders. Many innovations pioneered at MSK Kids are now the standard of care across the nation, helping to improve outcomes for all children with cancer.

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Do you love working with a collaborative team focused on patients? The Patient Services Coordinator provides practical resources and assistance programs such as housing and parking for our patients and families. He / She will maintain communication with patient families, clinicians, and psychosocial support staff, triaging and coordinating housing arrangements, financial assistance, education services and other resources. The Patient Service Coordinator reconciles records, financial approval, and billing processes. Are you passionate about our mission and supporting our patients? We want you to join us!

Role Overview:

    Serve as primary resource for the coordination of financial assistance and education programs for patients
  • Assign and coordinate housing reservations, per defined medical and psychosocial criteria
  • Introduce and enroll patients in the Hospital Schools program as appropriate
  • Maintain active and timely recording and reporting tools for all programs and funding sources
  • Create and maintain multiple communication mechanisms to introduce, promote, and/or inform patients and families of daily routines, unique services, educational materials, programs, and events

Key Qualifications:

  • 1 year of fast-paced office environment, preferably in clinical setting
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and digital literacy (including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)

Core Skills:

  • Able to effectively communicate with multiple healthcare disciplines (physicians, nurses, social workers, etc.)
  • Able to interact with acutely ill pediatric patient families in a high stress environment
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, personnel, and patients simultaneously and respond to issues requiring immediate resolution, timely and appropriately

  • Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY
  • Shift: 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday
