Volunteer Coordinator (Olympic Suicide Prevention Center)

This is a remote position. The pay range for this position is $26.38-$30.33 per hour.

There are two schedules available, each totaling 40 hours per week.

Option 1: Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am-6:00pm PST

Option 2: Sunday through Thursday from 10:00am-6:00pm PST

This role requires a three-week remote training at the start of employment. The training occurs Monday-Friday, 9:00a-5:00p PST.

Summary

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing, supporting, and overseeing volunteers at the Suicide Prevention Center, Crisis Line. In this role, you will ensure volunteers meet attendance expectations, remain up to date with required trainings, and feel engaged and supported in their work.

Primary Duties



  • Coordinates all facets of the Suicide Prevention Center volunteers' experience and ensures that volunteers are progressing within the program.
  • Serves as the point of contact for any needs during their volunteer time within the agency.
  • Monitors the performance of volunteers and provides on-going individualized coaching feedback to ensure they perform all duties satisfactorily.
  • Collaborates with Crisis Line Training Team in supporting volunteers in their apprenticeship period.
  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and recruit volunteers, including outreach efforts, partnerships with community organizations, and online recruitment.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of volunteer programs and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Fosters a welcoming and inclusive volunteer culture that promotes self-care and resiliency.
  • Creates and distributes monthly Volunteer Newsletter.
  • Manages the administrative tasks for incoming and exiting volunteers.
  • Tracks and ensures all Volunteers are up to date with required trainings.
  • Collaborates with crisis line leadership to identify program needs and implements improvements.
  • Monitors volunteer attendance and adherence to shift commitments.
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve volunteer retention and reduce absenteeism.
  • Assists with volunteer appreciation events and recognition initiatives.
  • Maintains current suicide prevention knowledge and best practices through literature review and attendance of workshops and seminars.



Position Requirements



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two years of experience working in a mental health related position, including at least three years of crisis line experience.
  • Working knowledge of mental health services and suicide prevention services.
  • Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, Department of Social Services, and other state, federal regulations related to outpatient and crisis line services.
  • Advanced skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effectively collaboration and relationship building skills.
  • Telephone and personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
  • Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
