First Shift, Full-time
$30,000 Sign-on Bonus for qualified candidates and positions!

Baptist Health Breast Imaging, where compassionate care meets advanced imaging and high-level cancer detection. Our Breast Center is led by dedicated breast radiologist with highly skilled mammographers, breast care nurses and an entire support staff dedicated to early cancer detection. We offer screening mammograms, diagnostic mammograms, diagnostic breast ultrasound and a variety of breast biopsies. We pride ourselves on accessibility and provide services throughout the community, including surrounding areas. Our team works closely with other departments such as surgery and oncology to provide the best care for all patients.

Job Description:
As a Bone Density Technician, you will specialize in the use of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) imaging technology to measure bone mineral density (BMD). Your role will include:

  • Performing bone density scans, including patient positioning, preparation, and ensuring accurate imaging results.

  • Using advanced DXA equipment to perform scans of the spine, hip, and other skeletal areas as prescribed by licensed independent practitioners.

  • Providing education to patients about the procedure, ensuring they are informed and comfortable throughout the process.

  • Processing images and documenting results for interpretation by the radiologist or attending physician.

  • Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment recommendations.

  • Exercising professional judgment to ensure the proper care and comfort of each patient.

  • Maintaining a professional demeanor while adhering to medical ethics and safety protocols.

  • Recognizing different patient conditions to adapt procedures for successful imaging and diagnosis.

Requirements:

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.

  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

  • Current license with the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.

  • Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.

  • Experience or training in performing bone density (DXA) scans preferred but not required.
