Manager, Corporate Accounting

What you will be doing:

The Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing the staff and full cycle general ledger functions; including oversight and review of the month end close process, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager also supports the external and internal audit process. The manager also acts as a consultant with Premier staff with respect to accounting questions and/or issues.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1 - 50%

Day-to-day Accounting and Month-end close process:

  • Manage the process and execution of daily accounting transactions

  • Manage and assist with the month-end close processes, including the approval and posting of journal entries, approvals of monthly reconciliations and financial report preparation, ensuring that proper back up documentation is maintained and internal control procedures are properly administered

Responsibility #2 - 25%

Staff Management

  • Directly supervise subordinate staff accountants

  • Assess staffing needs and performance; recommend changes as appropriate

  • Provide oversight and direction to staff, conduct performance discussion and complete appraisal and other performance documents

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to develop staff members

Responsibility #3 - 25%

Audit Process

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of the external audit process, including oversight of the fieldwork process. Manage the SOX process for the respective area to ensure the proper controls are in place and being performed completely and accurately

Required Qualifications

Work Experience:

Years of Applicable Experience - 5 or more years

Education:

Bachelors (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

Skills:

  • General Ledger Accounting

  • Staff Management

  • External and Internal Audit

Experience:

  • Experience with a company that files with the SEC

  • Skilled in utilizing financial/accounting software systems, Workday preferred

  • Ability to consult with leaders and staff on transactional and complex accounting issues

Education:

  • Masters

CPA a strong preference

Working Conditions: Air conditioned office space Travel Requirements: No travel required Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves remaining stationary most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $80,000 - $148,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
