The University of Virginia's Office of the Vice Provost for Online Education and Digital Innovation (OEDI) is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Senior Learning Designer to help shape the future of online and hybrid education at UVA. This pivotal role will be instrumental in driving innovation, maintaining the highest standards of quality, and ensuring that UVA's digital learning offerings continue to deliver exceptional experiences for learners. Reporting to the Senior Director of Learning Experience and Digital Innovation, the Senior Learning Designer will lead the quality assurance process for all learning products developed within OEDI. This includes ensuring alignment with UVA's rigorous academic standards and institutional vision. The Senior Learning Designer will also ensure that all learning products meet accessibility and compliance standards, including ADA requirements, to provide equitable and inclusive experiences for all learners. Additionally, the Senior Learning Designer will play a critical role in managing relationships with learning design vendors, overseeing project timelines, and ensuring all deliverables meet the university's quality benchmarks. In collaboration with the Senior Director, the Senior Learning Designer will contribute to the development and ongoing refinement of a comprehensive learning design playbook. This resource will empower UVA's schools and colleges to expand and enhance their online and hybrid program offerings effectively. The Senior Learning Designer will also help evaluate and pilot cutting-edge learning tools and technologies, including the integration of emerging AI solutions, to drive innovation and improve the teaching and learning experience. Work Location & Hours This position is hybrid, with regular travel to UVA Grounds as needed. The University will perform background checks on all new hires prior to employment. The anticipated hiring range is $70,000-80,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
