Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) is seeking talented and experienced candidates for an HR Business Partner opportunity at its corporate headquarters in Northbrook, IL.

This role is both hands-on and strategic and provides expertise in the areas of administration, employee relations, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, compliance, and ad hoc projects as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

  • 6+ years' experience in a HR Business Partner or other HR role including coaching, employee relations, recruiting, compensation, training & HR project management or program implementation

  • Experience objectively coaching employees and management through complex and difficult situations

  • Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and statutes for employment, thorough understanding and hands-on application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices, and standards

  • Resourceful and self-motivated with the ability to work in changing environments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess situations and make decisions based on data while drawing from previous experience

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner and collaborate with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams

  • PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM)-SCP certification a plus

  • Experience in professional services industry and international experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Delivers both strategic and tactical HR support and programs to employees and managers including performance management, compensation programs, compliance, and employee relations

  • Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance employee experience and partner with management to develop and implement innovative and sustainable solutions

  • Consults and coaches all levels of management to build and serve high performing teams

  • Builds credibility and trust among employees; resolves employee concerns with compassion and follow-through

  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions

  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations

  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance

  • Assists international employees with assignments and related HR matters

  • Consults and advises on talent reviews and the annual merit planning cycles

  • Leads or co-leads ad hoc projects in collaboration with the broader HR team and business sponsors

  • This position has no immediate, direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department

WJE offers a robust, total compensation structure, where base salary is just one component of an employee's annual earnings. Additionally, employees receive variable compensation based on personal and company performance, often resulting in above-market annual earnings. Actual base salary will be based on several factors including consideration for a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role while remaining mindful of our commitment to internal equity.A good faith estimate of the annual starting base salary (gross) is in the following range:

$111,120.00 - $166,680.00
