Overview

Are you an experienced professional looking for a dynamic role where you can make a significant impact? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Office Manager to join our Sacramento office. This is an on-site role.

As the Sacramento Office Administrator you will play a crucial role in overseeing the office operations and ensuring a productive and positive work environment for attorneys and staff. You will work closely with the Office Leader and the Regional Director of Administration to ensure that all attorneys and staff have the resources they need to provide exceptional service to our clients and drive workplace strategies and initiatives. The Office Administrator has the unique combination of strategic focus and a desire to be hands-on, executing and delivering in real-time, while simultaneously anticipating and planning for future needs.


Responsibilities

Leadership and Support:

  • Collaborate closely with the Office Leader and Regional Director of Administration to provide comprehensive resources and unwavering support to attorneys and staff,
  • and drive key firm strategies and initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, congeniality, and productivity within the team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Spearhead the coordination and promotion of a wide range of office events, such as staff appreciation initiatives, and seasonal events.
  • Play an active leadership role in planning and organizing community service activities within the office, including directing special events. Initiate and implement innovative programs and policies aimed at bolstering employee morale and fostering a strong sense of community.
  • Work with the Regional Director of Administration on special projects.

Office Operations:

  • Take charge of the comprehensive management of office space operations, liaising effectively with vendors and staff, overseeing office space allocation, and managing maintenance and construction projects.
  • Ensure the seamless and efficient resolution of all office maintenance issues, office relocations, equipment and supplies procurement, and other operational needs. This includes processing invoicing for building leases.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Administration to facilitate the preparation and management of the annual operating and capital expense budget, ensuring strict adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  • Work in tandem with the Regional Director of Administration to prepare monthly variance reports and provide ongoing budget re-forecasts throughout the year.
  • Uphold strict adherence to the Firm's risk management policies, safeguarding the office's operations and legal compliance.
  • Demonstrate a flexible work schedule and a willingness to work overtime, as required, to meet the ever-evolving needs of the office, ensuring its seamless and uninterrupted operation.

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in professional services firm administration, with a strong preference for prior experience in a law firm setting, including at least 2 years in a management position.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Understanding of applicable employment laws and regulations, with a commitment to ensuring legal compliance in all aspects of office administration.
  • Exhibit exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, which are vital for effective team management and collaboration.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in budget management.
  • Must be capable of working from the office and have the flexibility to accommodate irregular evening and weekend hours when required to meet the demands of the position.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $91,000 - $121,000.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
