Our DevSecOps teams build the tools that empower every engineer to ship code to classrooms quickly and reliably. You'll join our organization as a SecOps Engineer CoOp, helping build and integrate the tools that keep our systems and data secure. Our SecOps Engineers take a proactive role in building best-practices and sharing that culture, with a strong focus on building custom automation and innovative usage and integration of 3rd party cyber-security tooling with our internal workflows.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide top-level support for the talented engineers that build customer-facing applications to help teachers and students in classrooms throughout the U.S.

    • helping teams across the company create compelling apps by designing tools, workflows, and culture to ship code from laptops to classrooms frequently

  • Adopt and advocate for best-practices to:

    • Help teams meet the ultimate reliability and uptime challenges for digital tools by integrating security into

      • continuous integration

      • configuration and deployment automation

    • Build data pipelines that respect privacy and ensure security while offering useful insights

  • Learn every day by:

    • collaborating, pull requesting, and being mentored on a cross-functional team

    • participating in cross-team share-outs, brownbags, and workshop series

  • Contribute knowledge and ideas to the Information Security Committee for the development of policies, standards, and best-practices

  • Improve and participate in our security and regular incident processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Be pursuing a BS/MS in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or equivalent

  • Have knowledge of computer science and software engineering fundamentals

  • Have knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals

  • Have the ability to work with a close-knit team

  • Have the ability to both give and receive constructive feedback

  • Have strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with at least one cloud service provider

  • Experience with tools we use every day:

    • Build: Linux, Jenkins, Docker, Python, AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline

    • Storage: PostgreSQL, S3, DynamoDB

    • Deploy: AWS (ECS, EC2, Lambda, etc.), Terraform

    • Monitoring: Datadog

    • Security: BurpSuite

  • Passion and talent for teaching fellow engineers and non-engineers

  • Passion for building and learning: open source contributions, pet projects, self-education, Stack Overflow

  • Experience in education or ed-tech

What we offer:

This role is eligible for participation in a 401(k) plan. The annualized gross salary for this role is $62,400
