DUTIES: Responsible for designing, implementing, and patching of the Virtualized Linux server infrastructure. Collaborate with other team members to develop automation strategies and deployment documented processes. Perform installs and tests. Maintain Linux Server environment and supported software systems. Collect and assess information from the user community in software and hardware problem resolution. Define and track metrics and key performance indicators to raise the bar in team performance and customer service. Reduce errors working with other Linux and Unix administrators through process improvement and root cause analysis. Keep up to date with current trends and make recommendations. Produce support documentation on demand and periodically with the Manager of Infrastructure Services and others. Tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure. Assist with designing and developing infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools. Assist developing and maintaining configuration management solutions. Assist developing test automation frameworks in collaboration with rest of the Linux and Unix team. Create tools to help teams make the most out of the available infrastructure. Drive to meet or exceed organizational goals for quality, cost per contact, customer satisfaction, first contact resolution, and service availability. Participate in engagements that have a strong business & technology focus. Demonstrate strong customer service skills to provide onsite technical support, focusing on strong listening skills to gain an accurate understanding of the situation, and displaying a sense of urgency to resolve customer issues. Ensure operations support is performed in accordance with company policies and standards. Produce accurate documentation at the client and incident level. Constantly drive for process improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technology field. Seven years of experience required providing Linux administration support and senior-level server configuration support, including any experience with: scripting languages; installing, configuring, and maintaining services in Linux (i.e., Oracle); configuration management tools (i.e., Puppet, Chef); load balancing firewalls; network management tools (i.e., Tivoli Netcool); virtualization technologies; building and monitoring services on production servers; Linux SUSE; Linux RED HAT; Ansible; and with DevOps. Must have legal authority to work in the U.S. EEOE.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or technology related field. preferred. 7 years experience providing Linux administration support and senior-level server configuration support required. Other RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA, VMware VCP versions 5 or 6 preferred. Position Purpose: Sr. Linux administrator will be responsible for designing, implementing, and patching of the Virtualized Linux server infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to help develop automation strategies and deployment documented processes.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Perform installs, tests, and maintains Linux Server environment and supported software systems.

  10. Assist developing and maintaining configuration management solutions .
  11. Assist developing test automation frameworks in collaboration with rest of the Linux and Unix team .

  14. Participate in engagements that have a strong business & technology focus.

  16. Ensure operations support is performed in accordance with Gulfstream policies and standards.
  17. Produce accurate documentation at the client and incident level.

Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Expertise in Linux RedHat, SuSE and/or Expertise in Unix brand AIX/IBM.
  2. Experience with scripting languages.
  3. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services in Linux such as Oracle, etc.
  4. Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef.
  5. Familiarity with load balancing firewalls, etc.
  6. Proficient with network management tools such as Tivoli Netcool, etc.
  7. Experience with virtualization technologies.
  8. Ability to build and monitor services on production servers.
