1. Arrive to the lab early enough to set up skills/prepare for the day. Stay after class and clean lab.
2. Assist the instructor in observing and correcting students while practicing skills, following the same directions the instructor provided when demonstrating the skill.
3. Instructional Assistants are expected to be present and watch the demo and ensure students are correctly performing the skill, according to how it was demonstrated, during practice and test outs.
4. Testing out students to assign grades on their competency skills.
5. Providing detailed documentation with both positive and negative feedback on each test-out evaluation form.
6. You will be responsible for reviewing test-out assessments and providing students with clear, constructive, and timely feedback on their performance.
7. Facilitating remediation sessions for students who are not successful in mastering skills, providing in-depth feedback, and maintaining detailed records of the discussions and progress made during these sessions.
8. Be a professional role model for the students at all times.
9. Follow the dress code for faculty.
10. Notifying the instructor when supplies need to be reordered.
11. Be available for open labs, when needed.
12. Check SSC email on a regular basis for any correspondence from the college, Program Coordinator and/or other faculty.
13. Restock exam rooms when needed and transport equipment from the prep room to the exam room and back.
