Shipping Coordinator

Shift: Mondays-Thursdays 6:00am-4:30pm

Location: Ogden, UT (BDO)

Job Summary:

Shipping Coordinator oversee orders that leave the warehouse, and they are responsible for the timely and safe delivery to the customers. They will use many different methods of transportation that are available per the customer's authorization.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform cycle counts
  • Understand all warehousing procedures in order to correct process errors
  • Inspects inventory to ensure proper labeling and storing
  • Must be self-motivated in the care of and proper placement of material and parts
  • Maintain proper documentation of inventory
  • Responsible for inspections and care of equipment
  • Effectively organize material in its proper locations
  • Must adhere to company safety policies and be willing to participate on Division's Safety Committee

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess strong computer skills, i.e., MS Word, Excel, email.
  • Ability to interpret reports and data and take appropriate actions.
  • Must be analytical in nature and detail oriented.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and define objectives
  • Knowledge of inventory programs and functions associated with a Warehouse Management System.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum two years' experience in inventory control of a large distribution center running a Warehouse Management System. Hold current Forklift Certification. Must have experience with RF barcode scanners and associated equipment.

Excellent team player skills. Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react favorably in all work situations. Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.

Must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.

Safety Requirements:

  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all the employer's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

Equipment Used (but not limited to):

Ability to operate and maneuver a variety of equipment in tight positions (large and small forklifts, manlifts, pallet jack). Computers and Printers. RF Bar Code Scanning Equipment.

Availability:

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.
  • Must be available and willing to work overtime as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Travel:

Must be available and willing to travel as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

Working Conditions:

Diverse environment that requires exposure to various weather conditions in and outside the facility.
