COLLEGE COACH Summer Internship: Graduate Medical Education Intern

The opportunity

The College COACH summer internship is a paid program running from Monday, June 9-Friday, August 8, 2025. In addition to on-the-job training and work experience, the program includes workshops and additional development programs. College students will work 35 hours/week.

Graduate Medical Education (GME) at Boston Children's Hospital is committed to the education and preparation of physicians for excellence in clinical practice in a broad spectrum of pediatric medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties in both academic and private settings.

What you'll do

  • The Institutional Coordinator Intern will assist the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office with various administrative and operational tasks throughout the summer. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist with preparation and logistics for new resident and fellow orientation

  • Organize materials, schedules, and communications

  • Provide day-of support, including check-ins and troubleshooting

  • Red Sox Ticket Distribution

  • Organize and distribute tickets for trainee engagement events

  • This position is hybrid. 1-2 days onsite

  • Working with various stakeholders, including GME leadership, program coordinators, and trainees

Who you are

  • You are an undergraduate college student interested working in healthcare

  • Attention to Detail - Ability to accurately manage documents, data entry, and compliance tracking.

  • Basic Data Management - Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar tools for tracking information.

  • Organizational Skills - Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently.

  • Dependability & Initiative - Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask for guidance.

  • Collaboration & Teamwork - Willingness to work with diverse stakeholders, including program coordinators, faculty, and residents.

Recruitment process

  • Internship opportunities: We aim to have all summer internship opportunities posted by February 28. They will be posted on a rolling basis as managers determine their availability to host an intern.

  • Resume review & interviews: Applications will be screened, forwarded to managers as appropriate, and interviews will be scheduled.

  • Offer decision: We will follow up within one week of your interview.

  • Onboarding: Those selected for the internship program will complete onboarding by May to ensure a smooth start to the program.
