Duties:
The Transit Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for arranging the transit operation routes and schedules offered to the public. Employees in this class determine the number of vehicles and trips to be run, times of arrival and departure of vehicles, and number of stops, length of routes, and runs per shift for routes, according to the union-management contract and cost per mile.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. One (1) year of experience working in schedule processes for public transit or related field. Six months working with computer and Windows-based software (Excel) is preferred.

You must meet the minimum qualifications for this position in order to test. Your qualifications (if you meet them) MUST be written or typed out on your BID slip when you submit it.

Test:
Candidates will be required to pass a written examination to include an Excel exercise to determine the adequacy of their qualifications. (Test Date to Be Determined by the Human Resources Department).

Eligibility:
Consideration will be given to all qualified members of Local 2, as outlined below:

1) Any qualified member of Local 2 within group
2) Any qualified member of Local 2
3) All other Local 1859 & Local 1300 employees

Preference will be given to full-time candidates then part-time candidates.
