The Strategic Accounts Sales Support Specialist is responsible for managing and updating project details, reviewing customer requests, creating and managing opportunities in Salesforce, and generating accurate quotes and estimates. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external teams.

How you will do it:

Pre-Sales:

  • Update and maintain the Smartsheet regularly with the latest project details, including naming, assignments, and status updates.

  • Review customer requests that are missing key details or drawings.

  • Create and manage opportunities in Salesforce.

  • Create Salesforce cases for COE and surveys.

  • Generate accurate quotes and estimates for assigned accounts promptly, including projects and change orders.

  • Participate in daily and weekly meetings, both internally and externally, to ensure precise quoting.

  • Assist in gathering necessary customer documentation.

Booking:

  • Obtain customer approval or purchase orders (PO) and follow up as needed.

  • Review and create Compass estimates.

  • Secure necessary internal approvals.

  • Resolve booking holds promptly.

  • Attend daily and weekly meetings to ensure accurate booking processes.

Forecasting:

  • Keep opportunities updated to ensure an accurate sales forecast.

  • Support the Strategic Account Manager in the forecasting process.

Customer Engagement:

  • Conduct monthly reviews with the customer contracting team and internal sales executives to discuss upcoming renewals, issues, and updates.

  • Assist the Strategic Account Manager in preparing customer quarterly reviews.

  • Create dashboards with KPIs and online statements for customer collaboration when applicable.

Internal Team Coordination:

  • Align with transactional teams for reporting, process changes, contract modifications, inspection realignment, and billing issue resolution.

What we look for:

Required

  • 4-year College Degree in the business field or other related field preferred; or applicable experience

  • Proven ability to interact effectively with executive level and industry/segment professional organizations both internally and externally.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficient computer skills in the following applications: Salesforce, Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Internet business application usage.

  • Familiarity with Power BI and Smartsheet is a plus.

  • Entrepreneurial attitude, leadership ability, and ability to be a team player at all levels.

  • Ability to evaluate processes, determine root causes of process challenges, and assist in formulating solutions.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to follow directions and work independently while demonstrating solid organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external clients with a positive attitude.

  • Able to prioritize work activities based on the financial impact on desired business goals.

  • Able to positively represent Johnson Controls and communicate with others at varying levels.

  • Able to influence diverse teams to accomplish tasks and goals.

  • Able to use Service Management software and financial accounting systems.

  • Proven work experience as a Sales administrator or Sales support agent.

  • Understanding of sales performance metrics.

  • Good interpersonal and multitasking skills.

  • A great teammate with a high level of dedication.

  • Ability to work under deadlines.
