Detailed Job Description: Life Science MDM Lead - Onsite

The Master Data Management & Governance Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and leading data governance strategy for the client programs. This role ensures the consistency, security, and accessibility of master data across all business units and systems, enabling operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and strategic decision-making. The role encompasses Data Governance, Data Retention, Data Literacy initiatives, Data Quality, and Data Security for the CRM & External data sources on-boarded.

In this capacity, the leader will collaborate with diverse stakeholders across Process teams, business units, and external partners, relying heavily on influencing skills to foster alignment and ensure adherence to governance policies. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in CRM governance technologies and frameworks, leveraging them to integrate governance policies and enhance enterprise data processes.

What You Will Do:

Data Governance Strategy and Execution - Develop and implement data governance strategies that ensure secure, accurate, and reliable master data. Establish and enforce Data Retention policies to align with regulatory and organizational requirements. Build solutions to automate Data Quality and Security policies. Drive the adoption of Data Quality, Classification, Tagging and Security best practices across Process, Digital Technology teams and business units.

Data Literacy and Cultural Transformation - Define and implement a Data Literacy strategy to build organizational awareness of Master Data Management, Data Governance & Analytics practices in a measurable manner. Promote a culture of data stewardship through targeted training and communication programs, fostering accountability at all levels.

Policy Development and Enforcement - Lead the creation, communication, and enforcement of governance policies that integrate seamlessly into SAP technologies and business processes. Ensure consistent application of policies across systems and functions, influencing stakeholders to align with governance objectives.

Great understand of Life Science Match / Merge rule, Stewardship, GPO data integration and ability to collaborate with data team and downstream systems.

Cross-Functional Leadership - Collaborate with Data Owners, IT teams, and business leaders to align governance initiatives with organizational objectives. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing insights on data compliance, risk mitigation, and operational improvement.

Continuous Improvement - Leverage emerging technologies and best practices to refine governance frameworks. Conduct regular audits to ensure policy adherence and data quality, adapting processes based on organizational feedback and regulatory updates.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Minimum 14+ years' of experience in Master Data Management, governance, and CRM Data Integration roles and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 12+ years' experience in related work experience
  • Proven track record of leading enterprise-wide data initiatives, including policy development, implementation, and enforcement.
  • Expertise in data governance tools and advanced data platforms.
  • Deep experience in Life Science Sales Data, Marketing Data and Managed Markets Data source is MANDATORY.
  • Informatica MDM, Life Science Sales & Marketing data knowledge, Preferred to have AWS / Pyspark

The annual salary for this position is between $125,000 - $205,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
