STV is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Transportation Group based in our New York, New York office. You must be a PE to be considered for this position Job description
- Manage daily construction operations for the enhancements and replacement of pump room systems for the MTA C&D / NYCT system.
- Perform Resident Engineering activities for complex projects.
- Coordinate contractor's construction improvements with MTA user groups for T.A. Services such as access and protection, work trains, flagging and GO activities.
- Monitor Contractor performance, schedules, and overall effectiveness to ensure project goals are met.
- Ensure construction work is properly executed, completed in a timely fashion and conforms to the requirements of the construction documents.
- Ensure Contractor is maintaining project goals regarding cost, schedule, quality, and subcontractor participation goals
- Oversee project scope, scheduling, contractor procedures, and resolution of construction issues, ensuring successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
- Serve as a liaison between Designer of Record and Contractors, addressing RFI's and reviewing shop drawings.
- Responsible for overall site safety, permit condition compliance, and coordination with other City Agencies such as DOT, NYPD, Fire Department, etc.
- Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
- Manage the Contractor payment process and recommends appropriate adjustments as necessary to manage the Contractor.
- Responsible for overall site safety, permit condition compliance and coordination with other stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate progress, project updates, safety protocols, and scheduling during construction meetings with clients.
- Provide technical review of construction plans and specifications and project changes for constructability and practicality.
- Use effective oral and written communication skills to effectively lead progress, project, safety, scheduling and other contract administration meetings with client, local agencies and the community.
Requirements Essential Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in civil or structural Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum experience of five (5) years as a Resident Engineer or ten (10) years as Assistant Resident Engineer in the Transportation or Wastewater public sectors.
- Resident Engineering experience with MTA/NYCT/NYCDEP
- Experience on MTA / NYCDEP Pump station projects.
- Familiar with MTA procedures, T.A. Services, GOs, work trains, and obtaining access and protection services from user groups
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency with Primavera and/or MS Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Professional Engineer - New York (active) required.
- Strong relationships with MTA personnel.
- Experience with infrastructure projects, particularly those located in the New York Metro area, is highly desirable.
Compensation Range: $128,289.89 - $171,053.19
