This position offers a flexible, hybrid or remote working arrangement and can be located anywhere we have an office.

The Position

This is a excellent opportunity for cybersecurity attorneys who are eager to advance their careers and take on significant, substantive responsibilities in defending complex cybersecurity-related cases.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Serve as a key advisor to clients during all phases of cybersecurity and data privacy incidents, from initial triage through resolution



  • Analyze and interpret state, federal, and international privacy laws, including HIPAA, GLBA, CCPA, and GDPR, to provide sound legal guidance



  • Draft and manage data breach notifications to affected individuals and regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws



  • Prepare crisis communication materials in collaboration with clients and external stakeholders



  • Respond to and manage regulatory investigations and enforcement actions stemming from data breaches



  • Interface directly with clients, providing practical, solutions-oriented legal counsel in high-pressure situations



  • Draft detailed reports for clients and insurance carriers, outlining incident findings, risk exposure, and recommended next steps




Qualifications



  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

  • Active bar admission and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction



  • Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, with at least 2 years focused on data privacy and cybersecurity matters



  • In-depth understanding of privacy and data protection regulations, including HIPAA, GLBA, FERPA, CCPA, GDPR, and related state/federal laws



  • Proven experience managing data breach investigations and incident response protocols



  • Strong research and legal writing skills, with proficiency in Lexis, Westlaw, and related legal research tools



  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally



  • Technical or IT background is highly desirable



  • Litigation experience is a plus



  • Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment



  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach
