Overview

E2 is hiring an BESS Engineer 3 who has thorough knowledge and experience with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, practices, and advance engineering principles necessary to perform very complex or unique assignments for a specific discipline, various installations, or services.



Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload

    Work closely with Senior Engineers to execute large scale Demonstration and Pilot projects in energy storage including emerging new storage technologies.
  • Activities may include development of engineering specifications, instrumentation and measurement planning and installation, executing testing in accordance with test plans, analyzing data and developing high quality reporting and presentations on findings.
  • The work takes place in office, lab and filed locations depending on the project requirements.


Qualifications

Required Skills / Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Five (5) or more years of engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of energy storage systems, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), and their deployment strategies. Understanding the technical requirements, safety standards, and performance metrics for energy storage systems.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data and making informed decisions based on that data. This includes evaluating the feasibility of energy storage projects and understanding the impact on the electrical grid including fail safety design.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and operations.
  • This also involves engaging with external stakeholders and customers.
  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems related to energy storage and utility operations. This includes staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in the energy storage industry.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Must be capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
  • This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
  • Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.

Desired Skills / Attributes

  • Experience modeling power systems using PSCAD or RTDS.
  • Experience developing models for Energy Storage Systems.
  • Experience in instrumentation and measurement of power systems.
  • Knowledge of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems for monitoring and controlling utility operations.
  • Extensive experience in managing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • High adaptability to changing requirements and fast-paced environments.

Wage Data Per State Requirements

The salary range for this position is $81,436.16 - $101,795.20. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
