Under the guidance and support of the Assistant Controller, the SEC Reporting Manager is an active participant in achieving Finance objectives. The SEC Reporting Manager will oversee the financial reporting required by the Bank and its parent and subsidiaries (collectively, the Bank) under the requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other applicable regulatory authorities. They will also be responsible for working with various stakeholders throughout the Bank to ensure compliance with reporting requirements and monitor and implement current and emerging accounting and other relevant reporting developments and interpretive matters.

This person will also:

  • Lead and oversee employees supporting SEC reporting, providing thought leadership and guidance to those employees to improve their own expertise.

  • Facilitate the preparation, review and submission of all SEC and other Bank reporting in accordance with GAAP and other relevant reporting standards including SEC Form 10-Q, SEC Form 10-K, including meaningful and well-written MD&A, Form 8-K for earnings materials and investor presentations and other filings required by the Bank.

  • Manage the preparation, analysis, and submission of the annual sustainability report and other required sustainability reporting within the Bank's footprint in alignment with required standards in collaboration with various departments.

  • Support to the monthly, quarterly and annual close process of the consolidated and legal entity financial information including analytical reviews, variance and discrepancy identification, resolution of such items data, and other analyses (e.g., yield analysis, key ratios, capital evaluation, etc.). Ensure robust analytics are performed and used to assist management's understanding of results and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with the regulatory reporting team to ensure consistency between SEC and regulatory external reporting.

  • Aid in reporting and analysis for additional stakeholders throughout the Bank.

  • Perform monitoring of all new reporting/issues from the Financial Accounting Standards Board, SEC and other regulatory bodies, including assisting with the interpretation, communication, and implementation of new pronouncements or rules affecting accounting and reporting, including involvement of other finance and non-finance areas as needed.

  • Assist across Finance to ensure integrity of SEC reporting and ensure sound controls and procedures around the completeness and accuracy of the data being utilized in SEC reporting.

  • Coordinate and support internal audit and external auditors or regulators in the course of their inquiries, audits, or examinations. As necessary, draft responses and implement actions.

  • Review complex and unusual transactions to ensure compliance with SEC, GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with the reporting and proforma financial data needs for all acquisition filings, including the coordination with the accounting team for the recording of all acquisitions and lead the disclosure efforts required.

  • Lead special projects as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Accounting or Finance. Required

  • Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance. Preferred

Experience

  • 4-7 years Accounting and/or finance experience. Required

  • 3-5 years Financial Services Industry; SEC Reporting experience. Required

  • Less than 2 years Supervision. Required

Licenses and Certifications

  • CPA - Certified Public Accountant within 1 year of start date. Required
