Geosyntec Consultants, a multinational environmental engineering and consulting firm, has an immediately opportunity for a Payroll Analyst to join our corporate payroll team based in Boca Raton, FL. This position reports to the Payroll Supervisor. A hybrid work schedule will be available for this position after initial training for local candidates and remote working arrangements will be considered for candidates outside of the Boca Raton, Florida area from locations such as Kennesaw (Atlanta metro), GA; Houston, TX, Overland Park, KS; Orlando, FL; and Pittsburgh, PA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Analyze the payroll taxes each bi-weekly or monthly payroll;
  • Respond in timely manner to labor and workers compensation requests online or paper;
  • Payroll processing;
  • Prepare journal entry files for all payrolls;
  • Timesheet research for missing or late timesheets;
  • Timesheet reversal handling for missing hours or mis-posted hours/paid time off (PTO);
  • Review vacation accrual reporting;
  • Adjust PTO balances in payroll software platform;
  • Supply HR with a negative PTO balance report;
  • Correct any adjustments to the General Ledger Interface before posting into BST;
  • Assist with the timely transmission to the company's plan record keeper of 401(k), 409a, RRSP, TFSA, DPSP;
  • Provide employee customer service as required; and
  • Other duties as assigned.


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • A High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 5 years of payroll experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position. (required)
  • Experience with creating payroll reports, analyzing payroll taxes, and how payroll interfaces with accounting. (required)
  • Experience with payroll software and intermediate Microsoft Office Word and Excel knowledge (formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP). (required)
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, short correspondence and memos. (required)
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and memos. (required)
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to internal clients. (required)
  • Ability to add, subtract and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. (required)
