Responsibilities
Newport News Behavioral Health Center is a 108 bed intensive and highly structured residential treatment for psychiatric and behavioral health needs of adolescent males and females ages 11-18yrs. Newport News has an on-site certified school, therapists, and vocational programming. Newport News, VA is a beautiful seaside city, rich in maritime history and conveniently located to DC and other major North Eastern cities. Visit us online at: https://newportnewsbhc.com/ Position Summary The Primary Therapist is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of inpatient, continuing care and family services. This includes providing clinical support to other staff members, conducting interventions, conducting psychosocial assessments, developing the resident's treatment plan, conducting group, individual and family therapy. Qualifications Must have a Master's Degree and be licensed or licensed eligible in the State of Virginia in the field of psychology or a related field. Must have at least two years experience conducting group, individual and family therapy using a variety of treatment modalities. Must have at least one year treating a variety of mental health disorders. Prefer 1 year experience working and/or treating adolescents.
