Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled assembler to perform a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the assembly of our product. You will ensure all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product. This position is responsible for safely performing high-level continuous work to quality standards. Assignments may change based on business demands.
You must have desired technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity. Ability to interpret instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision.

Responsibilities:

* Performs all mechanical assembly operations of sub-assemblies and package assembly, all sensitive and very detailed assembly operations, some electrical, instrumentation and control elements of the package, and functional test set up including in-process quality checks and tests. Performs disassembly and rebuild of air ends, or sensitive rotating assemblies.
* Reads and interprets engineering drawings, specifications, assembly instructions, bills of material, and quality control documents.
* Takes responsibility for quality and work content performed in the applicable operation by signing off on the appropriate documentation prior to indexing to the next step in process.
* Insures that all tools used in performing job duties are within calibration, as stated on calibration sticker. Where discrepancies arise, immediate notification of supervisor occurs.
* Maintains clean, orderly, and safe work area and follow all safety rules and procedures. Identifies safety concerns and drives for successful resolution. Uses problem solving skills (identify problems and respond correctly). Shall be capable of performing disassembly and rebuild of air ends, or sensitive rotating assemblies.
* Exhibits a high degree of manual dexterity with great attention to detail and workmanship. Use of calipers, dial, indicators, precision measuring devices.
* Participates in departmental projects, as needed (ex. Lean initiatives, restructuring the cell layout, continuous improvement). Assists in the training of other department personnel as required.
* Performs job duties with limited supervision and other assigned duties

Requirements:

* 2+ (one) or more years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
* 2+ (two) or more years of assembly experience
* 2+ (two) or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
* Capability of lifting up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.

Core Competencies:

* Proficient in utilizing appropriate tooling, fixturing, and equipment to complete tasks according to engineering specifications.
* Ability to work effectively within a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
* Knowledge of and willingness to comply with all general work rules, policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and procedures.
* Ability to learn to operate all equipment associated with the job; including, but not limited to, power hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and measuring devices.
* Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Preferences:

* High School Diploma or GED preferred.
* Knowledgeable of and able to utilize computer systems.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:

* This position will be based 100% onsite at our Mocksville, North Carolina facility.
* Required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear continuously for 8-10 hours per day and occasionally on a sixth working day.
* Pulling/pushing of tubs, up to a maximum of 50lbs. Regularly lift up to 35 pounds.
* The employee will be required to use hoist systems if weight is above these amounts.
* Exposed to moving mechanical parts, machining oils/coolants from handling coated parts and to coolant/oil mists which are below OSHA's permissible levels of exposure.
* Normal noise in areas exposed to could range from 75-87 dBA; hearing protection is optional in these areas.
