Aon is seeking a Global Industry Leader for our Industrial Manufacturing Industry Vertical for our Enterprise Client Group. The Industrial Manufacturing Industry leader will be responsible to bring a deep understanding of industry specific issues that are top of mind for senior executives and connect these issues to Aon Solutions. The role will focus on bringing industry insights of Aon's content and capability, building our industry brand across the Enterprise sector of clients, providing feedback from clients on unmet need and ultimately the growth of revenue across the portfolio of Enterprise Clients. The role will support, and coach Enterprise Client Leaders to grow relationships with Aon's largest global clients within the industry. The role will also have responsibility for the retention and accelerated growth of their own clients within the industry.

This role will collaborate with the industry work done in region and solution line in relation to industry specialty to ensure content, insights and innovation are leveraged to bring our best insights, content, and capability to our Enterprise Client Group.

The Industry Leader will report into the Enterprise Client Group Global Industry Leader to stand up the enterprise approach to industry across the ECG client base. This role can be based in any Aon's major global regions.

The Industrial Manufacturing Industry Leader will require distinct capabilities in following areas:

Insights
  • Deep understanding of industry specific issues that are top of mind for senior executives
  • Ability to connect these issues to Aon Solutions and offerings to customize products and services
  • Support industry specific content creation working closely with all solution lines and industry leaders that are in each of our 5 regions
  • Bringing these insights to relevant client events both hosted by Aon and where Aon is sponsor/participant
Relationships
  • Demonstrating own network of broad set of senior relationships and demonstrating relevance to open doors with new buying centers at clients
  • Accountable for building deeper relationships working closely with Enterprise Client Leaders, to expand our relevance and buying centers across the FAB Enterprise clients
  • Mentor ECLs in connecting relationship dots at clients and actively helping them build trusted client relationships, including using all the relationships of our AEC, ELT members and relationship mapping
Collaboration
  • Identify 3-4 ideas that are bringing value for Aon and systematically take them to clients, continuous cycle
  • Continuously monitor external events (e.g., regulatory, acts of congress, trends across our Solution lines such as Cyber, Reinsurance, Talent) that will have impact on the industry, create solutions and content and work with ECLs to drive them to market
  • Partnering with the ECG Chief Commercial Officer and Industry-aligned colleagues to ensure voice of the client is shared across the Industry.
  • Collates ECL client feedback on trends and unmet industry needs
Operational Excellence
  • Assessing current landscape within the industry (white space, client plans, competitive view)
  • Evaluating Aon's relevance (content and capability), events and white papers ensuring Enterprise Client Leaders have clarity on bringing content to clients and have insight into the go-to-market strategy in the industry and aligning the strategy with the Regions.
  • Knowledge of pipeline for the industry, including offensive, defensive, and articulating value.
  • Able to replicate and scale wins and use the jeopardy process to handle revenue at risk
  • Working with ECG talent development team to ensure we have sustainable tools to educate Enterprise Client Leaders how to bring industry specialty relevance to clients
  • Partners with the direct manager of Enterprise Client Leaders to provide performance feedback throughout the year and during the annual performance review cycle to ensure appropriate levels of industry-specific client service.
  • Industry ECL's will remain in the region and sub-region ECG teams but work in the industry community created by this Industry Leader role.

  • Consulting skills: Identifies client needs and clearly articulates the problem to be solved; recognizes challenges and barriers to solving them and assembles internal resources to achieve the desired client outcome
  • Financial savvy: Builds solid understanding of the client's financials and strategy and is adept in discussing this with the client and internal teams
  • Effective communication: Listens and communicates with a client-centric, strategic focus and adapts to communication style of the client; clearly articulates client needs and action items internally; builds consensus within Aon and client organization
  • Team management: Strong influencing skills; ensures progress for all client projects and creates alignment of internal teams on related workstreams. Well versed in RFP Finalist Prep, Articulating Value and Client Discovery Facilitation and actively participates and facilitates sessions leading to better business outcomes
  • Management Information: Understands and uses management information to determine whitespace opportunities for growth across the industry
  • At least 10 years of industry-specific experience

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $325,000-$375,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in Aon's annual incentive plans including an annual discretionary bonus and stock. The amount of any incentives varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
