Description

The Care Center Professional is the primary point of entry for those seeking state-sponsored mental health, developmental disability or substance abuse services. Care Center Professionals screen callers to determine need and eligibility for services and make appointments with Social Workers, Psychiatrists and other mental health professionals within their assigned area. A commitment to the RHD values should be demonstrated as job duties are performed.

Essential Duties and Functions

  • Takes incoming calls from community callers.
  • Asks appropriate questions to determine types and levels of services required.
  • Determines what services are available to the caller.
  • Assists caller in connecting with and/or making appointments with the services for which the caller is eligible.
  • Records and documents accurate caller information into various electronic systems in a timely manner
  • All other duties as assigned

Reports to: Program Director

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a high-volume call center.
  • Must be able to quickly and accurately enter data into electronic systems, databases and external websites as needed.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English at a natural fluency level.
  • Ability to manage multiple phone lines in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness preferred.

Lifting Requirements

Sedentary: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to left, carry, push, pull or move objects (including self). Most work involves sitting majority of the time.
