Position Overview:

Title: Quality Control Supervisor
Reports To: Director of Quality and Safety
Location: Oconomowoc, WI - in person position

As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will actively participate in product compliance activities and supervise personnel to ensure customer specifications and Sentry's internal engineering and manufacturing requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Conformity: Ensure product conformity to customer requirements and internal specifications.
  • Non-Conformities: Supervise and participate in the processing of non-conformities and their recovery efforts.
  • New Product Development: Supervise and participate in quality control activities on new product development efforts, including Design For Quality (DFQ), APQP, and inspection methodologies.
  • Process Improvement: Assist manufacturing engineers in developing robust processes and identify areas for improvement with process data.
  • Inspection and Testing: Supervise and participate in the implementation of methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation of incoming and manufactured products.
  • Metrology Equipment: Knowledgeably program and operate a variety of metrology equipment, including Zeiss CMM, Metrios Cross OMM, optical comparator, profilometer, and other handheld or benchtop equipment.
  • Gage Management: Accountable for the maintenance of the gage management system.
  • Supplier Evaluation: Participate in supplier evaluation, qualification, and development.
  • Supplier PPAP: Supervise and participate in developing supplier PPAP requirements and the review of supplier PPAP submissions.
  • Corrective Actions: Effectively use Supplier Corrective Actions to resolve supplier quality problems and improve supplier performance.
  • Audits: Perform internal and supplier audits as requested by quality assurance.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and respond to internal and customer corrective actions utilizing proven problem-solving methods such as 8d, 5-Why, etc.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work within a multi-regulated environment; ISO 9001, ASME Section VIII Div 1, CSA, CRN, CE, ATEX, 3-A, NACE, etc..
  • Record Retention: Accountable for the retention of quality control production records and support their retrieval.
  • Continuous Improvement: Support company-wide and departmental continual improvement efforts.
  • Training: Support the company training program and conduct special training sessions.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications:
  • Education: BS degree preferred, with courses in engineering, applied sciences, mechanical/electrical design. Progressively responsible related experience may substitute.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification, ASQ Quality Engineer Certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years quality control experience in a custom-manufacturing environment and minimum 5 years' experience programming and operating Zeiss CMM (Calypso).
  • Skills: Knowledgeable in welding, machining, and assembly procedures. Proficient in problem-solving/root cause analysis, statistical methodologies, and driving CAPA and continual improvements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Competencies: Demonstrates A Player Competencies: Aptitude, Alliance, Agility, Accountability, Awareness & Anticipation.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Minitab, statistical quality tools, including SPC and various control charts.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Integrity: High level of integrity and dedication to continuous improvement.
  • Organization: Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to establish priorities, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
