As part of a diverse and hardworking team of technicians at the New Shepard production facility, you will assist with the setup of the production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment setup for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the transition from development to production. In this position, you will serve as a helper/trainee for the SOFI (SubOrbital Flight Instrumentation) Paint Booth, providing essential support in the application of various coatings and thermal protection systems (TPS) onto New Shepard flight hardware. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the precise application of coatings according to written procedures, engineering models, drawings, and specifications at the Surface Coating Facility. You will also operate various material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required. Additionally, you will perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. Your general assistance will encompass setup, cleanup, and maintenance of the work area, ensuring the smooth operation of the paint booth and the quality of the applied coatings and TPS.
