Senior Systems Engineer II

Axway, Inc. seeks Senior Systems Engineer II (Scottsdale, AZ)

Job Description: Perform technical operational activities including implementing software changes, resolving incidents, managing configurations, and administering tools for Axway's Managed Cloud in Production and Non-Production platforms (built on AWS, Linux, and Azure). Monitor performance of cloud-based databases, diagnosing and troubleshooting issues, and making necessary changes to optimize system performance. Ensure cloud-based database infrastructure meets security and compliance requirements. Work with peers across R&D, Cloud Engineering and other Operations teams on joint initiatives. Work with Customer and other Axway teams on technical Architecture/ implementation/ escalations/ Improvements. Understand alerts generated by Prometheus monitoring tool, Azure Sentinel, AWS Cloudwatch and Icinga, and work on its resolution. Facilitate setup of centralized Axway application log forwarding over to customer SIEM. Perform Capacity Planning on customer environment on Managed Cloud and provide recommendations for improving availability and cost optimization. Manage lifecycle of all requests and incidents that arise, driving for root cause of problems to prevent incidents from recurring. Participate in support and implementation activities as required.

Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Scottsdale, AZ.

Job Requirements: Requires Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3 years of related experience, which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Deploy Infrastructure using AWS Cloud Services using EC2, VPC, Route53, AWS Backup, S3, IAM, Certificate Management, AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database, and similar services on Azure; Oracle DB Administration, with either Golden Gate or data guard, and its maintenance; AWS Aurora DB Administration; Capacity planning and analysis for Databases in Cloud; Kubernetes for Container Orchestration and management; GitOps for managing Cloud Infrastructure; and Infrastructure and log management, Monitoring and Alerting using Logstash, Splunk, Icinga2, Prometheus, and Grafana.
