Job DescriptionThe Associate Manager, Housing supports the mission of the College by fostering a safe, comfortable, and affordable housing environment that promotes student success. This role ensures smooth operations, compliance with housing policies, and the effective management of campus housing facilities to meet the needs of students.

Hiring Range is $57,542.40 to $61,000

The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Core Values: Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.

  • Oversee student housing processes, including placements, move-ins, and move-outs, while coordinating maintenance needs with the Physical Plant to ensure maximum occupancy.

  • Assist with implementing preventative maintenance programs for all housing units (e.g., apartments, houses, and dormitories). Manage inspections, monitor maintenance needs through the housing software system, and enforce housing rules and regulations.

  • Supervise Resident Assistants and conduct safety training and drills for campus residents.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of all campus housing units, including data on occupancy, vacancies, rental rates, furnishing status, and inventory.

  • Assist with budget planning and management for campus housing. Prepare the initial annual operating budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure efficient use of funds. Provide periodic progress reports and special updates as needed.

  • Coordinate rental receipts and tenant affairs, including holding tenants accountable for lease violations, facilitating evictions, and attending court appearances as necessary.

  • Serve as a member of the management committee for third-party-owned housing units.

  • Supervise and evaluate assigned personnel to ensure high performance and accountability.

  • Respond to after-hours tenant incidents and emergencies as part of on-call responsibilities.

  • Participate in college committees as approved by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience will be considered.

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in housing management or a related field. Event planning experience preferred.

  • Preferred experience with Star Rez Housing Management Software system.

Certifications:

  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred; AED certification preferred.

  • Mediation training preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in database management and other computer systems.

  • Strong budget management, planning, and organizational skills.
