Primary Responsibilities HDR is looking for an Environmental Intern to join our Charlotte, NC office-based team this summer. This position will support cross-sector environmental and engineering teams servicing renewable developers, electric and gas utilities, and industrial clients. Duties include working in a professional environment with a multi-disciplinary engineering and environmental sciences consulting firm. Ideal candidates will have experience (which may include coursework) with GIS and Esri software or wetland delineation. We are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and has a strong desire to research, learn, and grow as an Environmental professional. Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
- Requires critical thinking skills, effective time management, ability to work and learn independently or with a team
- Experience with data collection within a field / water environment a plus.
- Must have a collaborative team attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Travel with an HDR team to remote, challenging field conditions for up to week-long durations may be required.
- Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate environmental science, biology, environmental Engineering or related program
- Attention to detail
- Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
