Polysomnography Technologist

Job Description
The Sleep Laboratory encompasses all technical functions within the Sleep Disorders Center. The laboratory is the diagnostic area of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care. It evaluates all patients suspected of having sleep disorders. It is located at University Hospitals East. The laboratory is staffed 24 hours per day, Sunday through Saturday.

Position Summary
Under the medical direction of a physician, Polysomnographic Technologist prepares patients for both all night polysomnographic recordings and multiple sleep latency tests and maintenance of wakefulness tests.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. Required Sleep credential through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, or Registered Respiratory Therapist programs within 18 months of hire. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
