What we're looking for:

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Vice President - Monetization/Ad Product Monetization to lead our revenue growth and monetization strategies. This role will be pivotal in shaping the future of our platform by defining and executing a robust monetization roadmap, optimizing ad auction dynamics, and delivering innovative solutions that maximize value for both advertisers and the business.

What You Will do:

Monetization Strategy & Roadmap Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive monetization strategy aligned with Gartner Digital Markets' business objectives and growth targets.

  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and risks in digital advertising monetization.

  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap for monetization features, including:

    • Automated bidding algorithms

    • Pricing strategies and minimum bid models

    • Ad auction structures and optimization

    • New ad formats, targeting options, and performance metrics

  • Ensure the monetization roadmap delivers enhanced value to software vendors while driving platform revenue growth.

Ad Auction Structure & Optimization

  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of automated bidding algorithms to improve advertiser performance and maximize platform revenue.

  • Refine the ad auction structure to ensure fairness, competitiveness, and revenue optimization.

  • Establish and continuously optimize pricing models to balance advertiser ROI with platform profitability.

Product Development & Optimization

  • Lead the end-to-end product development lifecycle for monetization features, from ideation to launch and iterative optimization.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Marketing, to deliver scalable, user-friendly, and high-impact products.

  • Ensure monetization products are seamlessly integrated into the broader platform ecosystem.

Analytics, Performance Monitoring, & Optimization

  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for revenue optimization.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of monetization strategies and inform data-driven decisions.

  • Continuously iterate on monetization features to improve performance and deliver measurable results.

Go-to-Market Strategy & Execution

  • Develop pricing strategies, packaging, and positioning for monetization products to ensure market competitiveness and adoption.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to create and execute go-to-market plans for new ad products and features.

  • Ensure alignment across departments to drive successful product launches and adoption.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of monetization Product Managers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, helping them develop their analytical, strategic, and product management skills.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment and drive cross-functional initiatives.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital advertising, product management, or related fields, with a strong focus on monetization strategies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using data to drive decision-making and measure performance.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term monetization visions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentorship and development.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling monetization products that drive significant revenue growth.
  • Deep expertise in digital advertising monetization, including:
    • Automated bidding algorithms
    • Ad auction structures and dynamics
    • Pricing strategies and optimization
  • Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 221,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
